Yzak,
We've been through some dangerous times together and you've never let me down. I dont mean to either. You know I'd stick by you through the worst of anything coming our way. You know, obviously, about this whole Yamato thing..and of course if it ever came down to siding with you or Athrun, I'd be with you always.
But.. supporting you doesn't mean I support everything you do or that I'm not worried about you. I don't really know how to put this but.. I always worry about you. You move so fast, so decisively.. You see so far ahead --enough for the both of us-- that I think you neglect everything else around you, sort of limit yourself to dangerous kinds of extremes. And the least thing I'd want is for you to be in danger.
It's true that Yamato's a traitor now. He's potentially a major threat to everyone up here, and definately already a threat to Athrun's credibility. But so far he's done no real damage to the upperclass, isn't that right? He's only been blindly defending whatever shred of a decent lifestyle he has left. Actually, the real damage is this created... divide.. between You and Athrun. It's not good for us. In the future we have to stick together to survive, and Yamato as a threat is getting this far..
You and Athrun aren't enemies. Rivals, of course, but not enemies. The real enemies are the ones below who have been working for years to take us down, not new kids like Kira. The idea that someone from our class --of our calibur-- could turn on the whole society makes me anxious, I'll be honest. Sure, Yamato's siding with the enemy, but I don't think as a stray grunt he can do much, so he's not our real target.
Yamato's nothing, there's no need to make him out as some underclass hero or high-profile terrorist, he's just a stupid and naive kid. Just.. well..is there a way you could settle for a moment? Re-think this? Really decide if going head to head with Athrun over some punk's mislpaced ideals is worth it? It could be better to let Yamato slide as some kind of exception. If anything, for the sake of keeping all of us together. I hate to admit it too, but we need Athrun as much as he needs us.
I'm speaking as a soldier and friend, so I'm not apologizing if you think I'm speaking out of turn. Just think it over, would you?
